24.5mile Walk for London Youth

Partnerships are important to us at Simple Life London, and wherever possible we like to support the initiatives of our colleagues. On the 14th September, two members of the Simple Life London team joined other partners to raise funds for London Youth, a charity focused on improving the lives of young people in the capital, challenging them to become the best they can be. We established a connection with London Youth as part of our 12 Days of Christmas campaign in 2021.

The team completed a 24.5 mile walk across the South East from Chislehurst to London Bridge, and strong teamwork was very much in evidence. Completed in approximately 8 hours, and covering over 57,000 steps each, they raised over £4,500 for this charity, of which we were glad to donate £500, funds which will be put to great use with young people across the capital.

London hosts the worst child poverty rate in the UK. Young people need opportunities outside school to have fun with their friends, to learn new skills, to make a positive change in their communities and to shape the city they live in. However, youth clubs are hugely underfunded and struggling, and young people are facing more challenges than ever before, post-pandemic. London Youth supports 600 youth organisations across London and provides incredible opportunities for young people in sports, arts, mental health, social action, employability, outdoor learning and more! We are keen to support their great work, and that of many charities, through such sponsorship, events and activities.

The team agree that the resulting muscle pain and sore feet were so worth it, and are rightly very proud of this team achievement. Well done!
